Denise Klarquist heads Klarquist, an independent marketing communications and branding consultancy. With a passion for brand integration and communication, grounded in design and over 25 years of deep and diverse experience as a marketing executive, designer, and operations manager, she works with start-ups and established companies to build visibility and credibility to support business goals.
Most recently, as the marketing director for the sustainability education & training firm, REV, Denise led brand and marketing efforts to accelerate growth. She has also served as a collaborative partner with Contemporanea and other agencies. Prior to launching Klarquist, Denise held a number of senior positions over a 13-year period — including Vice President of Marketing — at the innovation consulting firm Cheskin Added Value. Prior to Cheskin AV, Denise was senior designer at Ampex Corporation, responsible for national sales campaigns, corporate communications, advertising and identity management.
Denise has served on the Board of Directors of the NorCal Business Marketing Association and was involved in the San Francisco AIGA. She has lectured on marketing and brand for various organizations including CCA and the AIGA, and has authored/co-authored numerous articles and blogs. Denise received her undergraduate degree from CSU, Fullerton and a Certificat d’Etudes from the Université d’Aix-Marseille, France.
Denise believes in following one’s heart, challenging one’s fears, and learning with a beginner’s mind.
